The ? news of the nominaticu of Mr. Shackelford, of Onslow, lor Congress from this district, was received here this morning with much surprise by all, as such an eventuality was not down on the bills. ' .His nominationwil', however,, give pretty general satisfaction, we think, throughout the entire district. He is a good man and will make a strong rnn. We do not know, as yet, the influence by which the result v. as brought about. It is in order now for everybody to give Mr. Shackelford a warm, hearty and earnest support, ad the standard bearer of tbe .party in the coming Congressional contest. ! Concert by Pror Goodman.
